In this month’s Level Up! session, we discuss different strategies that can be used to bridge the gap between government agencies and minority contractors to create win-win scenarios and opportunities.
Contracting with Government Entities – What Do You Need to Know? State and local governments spend billions of dollars hiring contractors for goods and services, but most of those contracts don’t go to minority contractors — despite decades of affirmative action and other policies meant to make up for disparities. As business owners, there are certain things that you should have in place, including a business capability statement, a SAM/CAGE Code, NAICS Codes and in many cases obtaining specific industry/business certifications. Some government entities require businesses to register in their website portal.
